1990s one of her first projects was to develop a spa where she could offer clients her own signature beauty treatments. For Susanne, to create a luxurious wellness space that was in harmony with the surrounding nature, required a truly holistic approach incorporating anti-aging treatments, TCM, exercise and a dietary focus. The spa, with its white rooms and glass partitions was designed by her brother Oskar Leo Kaufmann, to ensure guests felt connected to the calmness and beauty of the outdoors throughout their visit.

Originally, the range of products, first launched in 2003, was intended only for spa use at the hotel. But soon guests asked to buy it so they could take it home with them, cult boutiques clamoured to stock it, and very quickly this niche brand was a global beauty phenomenon.
