“Growing up, I would always visit The Burlington Arcade on my trips to London. I loved the grandeur of it – how this pocket of luxury was held inside the most beautiful historic architecture. So, when I got the opportunity to open my own boutique, there was no question where I wanted it to be. Then came the challenge: How do I create the scent of the boutique? I realised that the characters who frequent it are what has always made it what it is. On one side, I thought of our clientele: I wanted 51 to have the air of the glamorous women that shop with us, so I blended an opulent bouquet with indulgent Vanilla and Casmir Wood. On the other, I thought of how the Arcade has a cheeky, sexy past, so I took this quite literally and layered in hints of Fruits and Spices. The resulting fragrance is luxurious but it’s exciting – much like visiting the Roja Parfums boutique itself.” – Roja Dove.
