Patchouli Classic Candle DIPTYQUE

On an island in Indonesia, fresh-cut patchouli leaves blossom in their shrubs in the shade. After cutting, they begin to dry out.

Once lit, this candle releases their perfume in full: dense and dark, charged with earthy, woody, almost camphorated accents. The space is transformed into a grounded sanctuary.

Guided by a desire to share their olfactory memories, Yves Coueslant, Christiane Gautrot, and Desmond Knox-Leet created Diptyque’s first three scented candles: Aubépine (Hawthorn), Cannelle (Cinnamon) and Thé (Tea).

The three founders’ fascination with nature gave rise to an exceptional herbarium of scents comprising more than fifty candles. Flowers, fruits, trees, herbs and spices make up this living collection.

The result of exceptional craftsmanship, the art of perfumery meets candle-making expertise. Each candle is made from a blend of several types of wax and a high-quality fragrance concentrate, as well as a selection of a wick that guarantee perfect scent diffusion and combustion. Meticulous work carried out in two factories, near Paris and in Provence, by master candle makers.
